1. **Hole Saver**:
- *1) External Savings*: Instead of using internal savings, switch to external ones and install pressure gauges to monitor the pressures in the upper and lower chambers in real time. This makes maintenance and repairs more convenient. The external design also allows for regular removal, which is difficult to achieve with internal savers.
- *2) Savings Ratio*: The theoretical value of the savings ratio (β) should be between 1.2 and 1.5, with 1.25 being ideal based on practical experience. During repair, it's essential to maintain high precision on the spindle, front and rear bearing pads. Strict control over concentricity, roundness, and taper is necessary to ensure the correct β value. Depending on the machine tool’s load, the e value (the misalignment between the main shaft and the bearing bush) can be determined to achieve the optimal β.
- *3) Oil Chamber Adjustment*: When the main shaft is not installed, check that the oil columns from each outlet are consistent (using an observation method). If they aren’t, adjust the saver’s aperture to change the flow rate. For example, in a four-chamber system, the oil column in the lower, left, and right chambers should typically be between 20 and 25 mm, with small hole diameters ranging from 0.25 to 0.4 mm.
2. **Thin Film Reaction Saver**:
- The stiffness of the film reaction is very high, but during operation, the machine tool may show issues like tiling, pulling, or pressure drop. The most critical factor here is the film itself. In practice, the primary causes of bearing lock-up or pulling are:
- Plastic deformation of the film under heavy load.
- Slow response when the external load changes suddenly, causing the axis and tile to clash.
- Fatigue deformation due to long-term use, which alters the reaction parameters.
- To improve this, increase the film thickness and use fatigue-resistant materials. A common approach is to replace a 1.4mm rigid film with a 4mm thick one, add a 0.05mm tin foil paper to the cavity pad, and adjust the spindle to be 0.05mm higher than the original position. This helps the spindle (grinding wheel assembly, cutting force) return to its central position effectively.
3. **Improvement of the Oil Supply System**:
- The oil supply system for imported static pressure bearings includes coarse and fine filtration, as well as other protective components. Enhancing the existing system can significantly improve performance.
- *1) Pressure Monitoring*: Install a pressure relay and gauge after the plate saver, positioned before the accumulator. This allows operators to monitor chamber and inlet pressures. If the pressure difference exceeds a set threshold, the system should stop immediately to prevent the shaft from locking. For example, if the inlet pressure is 2 MPa, the outlet pressure should be between 1.2 and 1.6 MPa. If it drops below 1.2 MPa, the system should shut down.
- *2) Digital Detection Equipment*: There is a gap of 0.04–0.05mm between the main shaft and the bearing bush. The oil has a certain resistance, and measuring this change can indicate the gap length. One pole is the bearing, and the other is the main shaft. By detecting the resistance variation, the signal can be sent to a photoelectric alarm and control system amplifier, allowing the spindle motor to start or stop automatically, thus preventing conflicts between the shaft and the tile.
