China Xiamen International Stone Fair ranks first in the world
**Abstract**
Last year, the China Xiamen International Stone Fair was still considered "Asia's No. 1" in the stone industry. This year, however, it has outpaced the Italian Verona Stone Fair and the German Nuremberg Stone Fair, claiming the title of the world’s largest stone exhibition with the most exhibitors.
The 13th edition of the China Xiamen International Stone Fair is set to take place from March 6th to 9th at the Xiamen International Convention and Exhibition Center. Both the total exhibition area and the international exhibition space have expanded by 40%, securing its position as the top event in the global stone sector.
**40% Expansion Still Not Enough**
This year’s exhibition covers a total of 160,000 square meters, an increase of 45,000 square meters compared to the previous session. A total of 8,250 international standard booths were set up, up by 2,350 from last year. Over 2,000 companies from 54 countries and regions have participated, showcasing their latest products and innovations.
According to the organizing committee, this year’s exhibition venue was dubbed “explosive shed†due to the massive scale. In addition to utilizing the third phase of the exhibition center, the layout of the former plaza was optimized. The outdoor exhibition area expanded from 11,000 square meters to 24,000 square meters, making the overall size increase by 40%—a significant achievement that surpasses other major international stone exhibitions.
**"Internationalization" Reaches New Heights**
This year’s international exhibition area spans 32,000 square meters, marking a 9,000-square-meter increase from last year—an impressive 40% growth. The number of exhibitors also reached an all-time high, with an increase of 500 compared to the previous year. Domestic exhibitors rose by 34%, while overseas participation grew by 29%.
Notably, the participating companies represent the best in the global stone industry, with leading brands from around the world gathering in Xiamen. Exhibitors from 13 countries, including Italy, Turkey, Greece, and Brazil, have expanded their presence to compete for a spot at the fair. The growing international influence and brand appeal of the Xiamen International Stone Fair are clearly evident.
Newcomers from Croatia, Romania, Tunisia, and Belgium will also showcase their unique products, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of the event.
**Expected to Attract Over 130,000 Merchants**
Despite the challenging global economic environment in 2012, the stone industry faced significant obstacles. To overcome these challenges, the organizing committee focused on emerging markets such as Eastern Europe, North Africa, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia. They actively participated in over 20 international exhibitions, including the Turkey Izmir Stone Exhibition and the American Stone Exhibition, creating strong international connections.
To date, more than 70,000 professional stone merchants from over 140 countries and regions, as well as from more than 30 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions in China, have registered for the event. It is expected that the total number of domestic and foreign visitors will exceed 130,000. Additionally, over 30 overseas professional merchant groups from Germany, Switzerland, Portugal, and France are anticipated to attend, further highlighting the global reach and significance of the fair.
