Nanodiamond tip technology or will improve nanofabrication

Abstract Thermal processing has long been a cornerstone in industrial manufacturing. According to Professor William King from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Illinois, his research team has been exploring ways to shrink thermal processing down to the nanoscale. By utilizing nano-sized heat sources, they aim to precisely add or remove materials and facilitate chemical and physical reactions at an unprecedented level.

One of the most critical challenges in this field is ensuring the reliability of nanodiamond tips, especially when working with hard surfaces and semiconductor materials. Recently, researchers from the University of Illinois, the University of Pennsylvania, and Advanced Diamond Technology Co., Ltd. have developed a new type of nano-terminal for thermal processing. This groundbreaking tip is entirely made of diamond and measures just 10 nanometers in size. As Professor Jin explained, "This tip not only enables precise thermal processing at the nanoscale but also offers exceptional wear resistance."

The findings were published in the journal *Nanotechnology* under the title “Atomic Force Microscope Cantilever Based on Ultra-Nano Diamond Ends.” The study demonstrated how a 10-nanometer diamond tip can scan a surface that is approximately 1.2 meters in size without any signs of wear.

The scanning distance is equivalent to 1 billion times the size of the tip—this is like making four full trips around the Earth. Remarkably, the tip remains intact throughout the entire process.

Robert Capert, a professor at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Engineering and Applied Science and co-author of the study, noted, "Diamond-based probe tips are exceptionally strong under extreme conditions such as high temperature, pressure, and oxidation. Their combination of durability and adaptability opens up new possibilities for advanced applications in atomic force microscopy."

Moldova, a scientist from Advanced Diamond Technology and a collaborator on the project, added, "The superior wear resistance of these diamond tips in harsh environments gives us a significant advantage over traditional probes, boosting our confidence in their performance by more than double."

Wall Hung Smart Toilet

Wall hung smart toilets are truly state-of-the-art bathroom fixtures, offering a host of features to enhance the user experience and add a sense of luxury to the bathroom.

Space-Saving Design: These toilets mount to the wall, saving valuable bathroom floor space. This is especially practical for smaller bathrooms or if you prefer a more minimalist aesthetic.

Heated toilet seat: A cold toilet seat can be uncomfortable, especially during the colder months. Wall-mounted smart toilets usually come with a heated seat that can be adjusted to your preferred temperature for a comfortable experience.

Adjustable water temperature and pressure: These toilets often offer adjustable water temperature and pressure settings for the bidet function, which allows users to customize their cleaning experience to their liking.

Warm air drying: After using the bidet function, wall-mounted smart toilets often provide a warm air drying option. This eliminates the need for toilet paper and promotes a more hygienic and environmentally friendly method.

Additional features: Some wall-mounted smart toilets may include additional features such as built-in air purifiers, deodorizers, night lights, and even background music or Bluetooth connectivity.
