Metal phosphating surface treatment front surface adjustment technology



1.        introduction

Germany W.Machu believes that after the metal is strongly alkaline washed or pickled, the surface is eroded, and the film formed by phosphating of the metal is coarse and the corrosion resistance is checked. In order to obtain a dense and uniform phosphating layer, surface conditioning is usually employed.

The effect of the surface conditioning agent before surface treatment can be summarized as follows: ( 1 ) homogenizing the surface active and inactive points of the metal phosphating; ( 2 ) shortening the phosphating time by about one time; ( 3 ) crystallization of the phosphating film 40 micron to below 20 microns; ( 4 ) to prevent the formation of iron phosphate blue film; ( 5 ) to improve coating adhesion and corrosion resistance.



2.        Surface conditioner type



2.1 Acid Table Conditioner

The acid surface adjustment agent is mainly composed of an organic acid and a surfactant, and has the functions of removing scale, flux and residual oil film, and is a special surface adjustment agent for steel welded parts. Unlike the alkaline surface conditioner, after the acidification is adjusted, it can be phosphated by washing with water. The most commonly used organic acid is oxalic acid.



2.2         Ti series watch

The Ti- based surface modifier mainly includes colloidal Ti , a stabilizer (citric acid, an alkali metal amine), and an alkali metal salt.



2.3         Ti-Mg metering agent

In the Ti- based surface conditioning agent , P2O7 has a stabilizing effect of preventing colloidal Ti from agglomerating. However, P2O7 also reacts with the steel surface to form an inactive film, which forms a non-uniform blue film, a white film, and the like after phosphating. Prevent the passivation of P2O7 to steel.



2.4         Ti-Fe- based surface conditioner

Add a small amount of Ti-based ferric salt in the table swap, Ti can increase the activation efficiency.



2.5         Ti-Borax watch conditioner

In the Ti- based surface conditioning agent, borax is added to facilitate the refinement of the phosphating film.



2.6         Mn- based surface conditioning agent

The Mn- based surface conditioning agent is composed of a manganese salt (phosphate, nitrate), a phosphate, an alkali metal polyphosphate, and an insoluble polymer (polyvinyl alcohol).



2.7         Other surface preparation

The European patent reports the addition of a ketone compound to a phosphopeptide-containing surface conditioner. American A.Henkel uses 1,1 -diphosphate as a surface conditioning agent for metal phosphating surface treatment before phosphating, which can be used for steel, iron, zinc, aluminum and alloys.

The alkylbenzenesulfonate is simply mixed with an alkali metal salt or an alkaline earth metal salt in an aqueous solution to form an alkylbenzenesulfonate colloid. This alkylbenzenesulfonate is used alone and has more advantages.

Although there are many kinds of surface modulating agents for metal phosphating surface treatment, the versatility and wide application are titanium-containing surface conditioning agents.
