Fertilizer plant "labor insurance supermarket" popular
The Hubei Chemical Fertilizer Plant introduced a new approach to labor insurance, making the selection of protective equipment more flexible and transparent. By posting the variety and unit prices of labor insurance products on the local area network, employees could choose items based on their actual needs. This innovative strategy was well-received by the workforce, as it gave them more control over their safety supplies.
Starting in March this year, the plant launched a "Labor Protection Supermarket" simulation model. The program categorized labor insurance items into different groups, such as cleaning supplies and seasonal protective gear. Cleaning products included laundry detergent, shampoo, and shower gel, while summer and winter protection featured items like sun hats and cold gloves. These samples and pricing details were provided by the Hubei Chemical Fertilizer Supply Department.
Each department submitted a quarterly demand plan through the ERP system, which was then integrated into the "Supermarket" management. The Materials Supply Department signed annual framework agreements with suppliers and handled account settlements every quarter. This structured approach helped streamline the procurement process while ensuring transparency and efficiency.
According to reports, the "Labor Protection Supermarket" performed well during its first quarter of operation. In the second quarter, the plant plans to introduce 29 new types of samples to further expand the product range. Although the workload for data entry, order processing, and inventory tracking has increased, employees have positively responded to the initiative. The concept of "My insurance is my job" has resonated with many, reinforcing a sense of responsibility and empowerment among the staff.
This new system not only improves resource allocation but also enhances employee satisfaction by offering more choices and promoting a culture of self-management in safety practices.
