Increase the vitamin C content in feed to prevent fish disease

To evaluate the impact of vitamin C on the growth and health of diseased Nile tilapia, researchers from Egypt's fisheries sector conducted a controlled study. The fish used in the experiment had an average weight of 20 grams, and they were fed diets supplemented with varying levels of vitamin C: 0 mg/kg, 50 mg/kg, 150 mg/kg, 250 mg/kg, 500 mg/kg, and 1,000 mg/kg over a period of 12 weeks. Fish that received no vitamin C showed signs of poor health and slower growth. However, those fed with 50 mg/kg of vitamin C exhibited fewer symptoms of disease. At 150 mg/kg, the fish demonstrated improved weight gain, better feed conversion efficiency, higher specific growth rates, and increased protein utilization. Additionally, the protein content in the fish body increased while fat levels decreased. Vitamin C was found to accumulate in key organs such as the spleen, liver, muscle, and kidney. When infected fish were fed different concentrations of vitamin C, the mortality rate among those without vitamin C supplementation exceeded 90%. In contrast, fish fed with 1,000 mg/kg of vitamin C had a survival rate above 90%, and their pathological symptoms gradually disappeared. This study highlights the significant role of vitamin C in enhancing both the growth performance and disease resistance of Nile tilapia. Such findings can be valuable for improving aquaculture practices and ensuring healthier fish populations. China Feed Industry Information Network - based on feed, serving animal husbandry.

Powder, Power, And Lithium - Ion Battery Field

Powder, Power, and Lithium - ion Battery Field

In the field of energy power, the improvement of efficiency and the extension of life span have very demanding requirements on material performance and structural design. Silicon carbide ceramic materials outperform most metallic materials in terms of specific stiffness, thermal shock resistance, friction and wear resistance, and thermal conductivity, but they are difficult to machine and cannot be used on a large scale.

FLK has achieved a breakthrough in the manufacturing technology of integrated complex components made of silicon carbide ceramics by using additive manufacturing technology.
High strength, high rigidity, high stiffness, light weight: density 280-3.05g/cm, low energy consumption, good thermal shock resistance, low coefficient of thermal expansion, compared to metal parts, 3D printed silicon carbide ceramic parts can extend their service life by more than one time, reduce energy consumption, and meet extreme working conditions.
