High-density rock wool boards used for partition walls are commonly referred to as "sound-proof rock wool."
They are typically used for sound insulation in lightweight walls. The standard structure of such a wall is:
Gypsum board (one or more layers) + keel + rock wool board + gypsum board (one layer or multiple layers)
In this configuration, the rock wool board serves as a sound-absorbing material. It absorbs sound waves that pass through the gypsum board, reducing reflections within the cavity formed between the plasterboard, keel, and the rock wool. This helps improve the overall sound insulation performance of the wall.

In contrast, rock wool sold in general markets usually has a density of no more than 60 kg/m³, leading to poor sound insulation and a soft texture that easily collapses, losing its effectiveness over time.

In contrast, most rock wool sold in the market requires cutting on-site, which is less efficient and more labor-intensive.
