The current state of the US furniture industry and analysis of sales fell sharply

Among the US furniture manufacturing companies surveyed, sales fell by an average of more than 10% last year, and some of the most famous brands fell extremely badly. Retailers are also hit hard as home construction stops and consumers are satisfied with the furniture they already own.

The recession has worsened the long-standing trend. The entire US furniture industry is slow to adopt low-cost and efficient strategies such as LeanManufacturing. Even if it is produced offshore, no company has made serious efforts to enter the export market. Unlike other consumer goods industries, furniture companies are not yet good at selling and distributing their products.

The American furniture industry faces some unusual challenges, such as well-made wooden furniture that can withstand wear and tear and keep up with fashion. And the effect of price reduction is different from other industries where fashion plays an important role. The report pointed out that if clothing is reduced, women may feel the need to buy more clothes. And if the sofa is reduced, the customer feels that only one piece is enough.

With the decline of manufacturing companies and furniture stores, some companies will have a chance to survive.
