Zhejiang spot checks 23 batches of anti-static shoes products
In a recent report, the Zhejiang Bureau of Product Quality Supervision and Auditing Office revealed the findings from the 2013 spot checks on anti-static shoes across the province. The results indicated that out of 23 batches tested from five regions—Hangzhou, Ningbo, Wenzhou, Taizhou, and Huzhou—23 companies had products with static electricity issues. Specifically, one batch failed the test, resulting in a failure rate of 4.3%.
According to the inspection outcomes, only one product, the sole shoe from Zhejiang Xinkaifu Shoes Co., Ltd., manufactured in September 2013 (model: injection 245 250), showed unsatisfactory tensile properties in the upper part.
The Zhejiang Provincial Bureau of Product Quality Supervision emphasized that anti-static shoes are essential for workers in industries such as petroleum, chemicals, electronics, and military sectors. These shoes help reduce or eliminate static electricity risks by conducting the static charge from the body to the ground. Typically made with rubber or polymer soles, they play a crucial role in maintaining safety in environments where static can be hazardous.
