The Dalin Minghua Community has been making great efforts in promoting environmental protection and energy conservation in recent years. One of their key initiatives was encouraging residents to switch to electric vehicles, and they recently built a "solar pavilion" at the Inner Event Center Plaza. This innovative structure not only provides rest areas and night lighting but also offers free electric vehicle charging, earning widespread praise from the community.
Last year, the community actively promoted the use of electric vehicles by leveraging subsidies from the central and county governments. Initially, some residents were hesitant, but after experiencing the convenience and cost savings, more and more people started adopting electric vehicles. To date, the community has over 100 electric vehicles registered, showing a strong shift towards sustainable transportation.
In addition to switching to electric vehicles, many residents have installed solar water heaters to reduce gas expenses. Even the lanterns used in local temples have been converted to solar power. These collective efforts have earned the Minghua Community the top prize in the national energy-saving and carbon-reduction assessment conducted by the Ministry of the Interior, along with financial support for further green initiatives.
Currently, there are eight charging stations in the community, including those powered by wind and solar energy. Recently, the solar pavilion was completed, further enhancing the community’s commitment to sustainability. The pavilion serves as both a public space and an energy-efficient facility.
According to officials from the Minghua Community Development Association, the solar pavilion at the community center plaza is designed for leisure and service. During weekdays, the solar energy collected is used to charge electric vehicles for free. Additionally, the LED lights in the pavilion are turned on from 6 PM to 6 AM every day, providing bright and safe illumination throughout the night.
