Reasons for the death of the rich tree and measures

The cause of death for a defoliated tree is typically due to insufficient light, lack of nutrients, or an overly wet growing medium. To prevent root rot, there are two effective methods. First, prepare a well-draining and breathable growing medium. You can mix pond mud, river sand, and cooked wood chips in a ratio of 5:3:2, or use mountain mud and river sand in a 7:3 ratio. This helps ensure proper airflow and prevents water from sitting around the roots. Second, water the plant only when the soil surface turns white. When this happens, water thoroughly until it drains out from the bottom. It’s important not to overwater, as excessive moisture can lead to root problems. If water accumulates at the bottom of the pot, make sure to drain it promptly. Additionally, avoid placing potted plants in areas with poor ventilation for extended periods. Most people who grow these plants today have already pruned and dwarfed them. When kept indoors, they may adapt to low-light conditions, but this isn't ideal for their long-term health. Too much shade can lead to weak growth, poor photosynthesis, and increased susceptibility to disease. To maintain healthy growth, place the plant in a well-lit room, and don’t keep it indoors for more than two months without giving it access to natural sunlight. The fortune tree can survive indoors, relying mainly on stored nutrients and limited photosynthesis. For best results, choose a plant that is over one meter tall with a thick, sturdy stem. A stronger, more mature plant will last longer and maintain its ornamental value. Encourage multiple branches—six or seven is ideal—to support healthy growth. Such plants tend to have strong root systems and sufficient nutrients, making them less likely to drop leaves when properly cared for. However, some people rush the process, placing small, tender plants indoors for long periods. These plants often have underdeveloped roots and insufficient nutrients, leading to poor photosynthesis and eventual decline. If you notice such a plant, it’s best to move it outdoors for a while to recover before bringing it back inside.
