Reasons for the death of the rich tree and measures

The cause of death for defoliated trees often stems from insufficient light, lack of nutrients, and an overly wet growing medium. To prevent root rot, there are two effective methods. First, prepare a well-draining and breathable planting medium. You can mix pond mud, river sand, and cooked wood chips in a ratio of 5:3:2, or use mountain soil mixed with river sand in a 7:3 ratio. This ensures proper aeration and prevents waterlogging. Second, monitor the soil color before watering. When the top layer of soil turns white, it's time to water thoroughly. Make sure the water drains completely to avoid standing water at the bottom of the pot. If the potting mix remains wet for three to four days, check for water accumulation at the base and drain it if necessary. Additionally, avoid keeping potted plants in poorly ventilated areas for extended periods. Most people currently grow dwarfed, cut plants that have been acclimated indoors, which often leads to them being placed in semi-shady spots. However, these plants still require adequate light for healthy growth. Prolonged shade can lead to poor photosynthesis, weak growth, and increased susceptibility to disease. To ensure their health, place potted plants in a well-lit room, but avoid keeping them indoors for more than two months. If they must stay inside for longer, periodically move them outdoors to receive natural sunlight. The fortune tree is often kept indoors for decoration, and while it can survive, its main energy source comes from stored nutrients rather than strong photosynthesis. Therefore, it's best to choose plants that are over one meter tall, with thick, sturdy stems. These plants tend to live longer and maintain better health. A full canopy with six to seven branches helps maximize photosynthesis and keeps the plant ornamental. However, some people rush to place small, tender plants indoors for immediate decoration. These plants may not have enough roots or stored nutrients, leading to excessive shade, poor photosynthesis, and eventual decline. In such cases, it's recommended to grow the plant outdoors for a few weeks first, allowing it to strengthen before bringing it back inside.
